For years I've seen a friend donate time, energy, money and all her love to this effort. Last year, my husband and I finaly partook by volunteering at day 0 for AIDS Life Cycle Ride. I decided not to sit on the sidelines anymore and volunteer to end AIDS.
This year, I am taking it a step further. I'd planned to roadie on the ride, essentially set up all the necessary infrastructure for riders to get from point A to point B everyday. However, dusty tent camps for 8 days and a sleep-deprived new mom don't sound like a good mix. I do plan to keep on with my fund-raising efforts and have set a lofty goal of $2000. I've never fund-raised this much money for anything before, and I am so intimidated and excited! Together we can raise funds for life-saving services offered by SF AIDS Foundation and the LA LGBT Center.
I don't have a personal story that connects me to AIDS, maybe you don't either. But I do know I want to help make AIDS a thing of the past. The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me. Would you support me by making a donation?
Here's a litle more about the ALC Ride:
From May 31st to June 6th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
