TL;DR? Donate to help make HIV/AIDS history!
The AIDS epidemic has changed immensely in the past 30+ years and nowhere has this change been more visible than San Francisco. Nearly half of the gay community in San Francisco was lost in the 80s because of AIDS, and there are still many people living with the scars of that era. AIDS diagnoses have decreased 62% since 2008 but a growing number of the new diagnoses are from the homeless population, as well as from other communities that have the least access to resources for care and prevention. These communities are part of the city I now call home and they deserve better.
I've loved my adopted home of San Francisco and the communities I'm able to be a part of, so I've decided to participate in AIDS/LifeCycle this year to give back to those communities. Fom May 31st to June 6th I will be riding with over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me.
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
