Dear Colleagues/Friends/People Who’re Simply Nice,
I’ll be joining a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to LA between May 31 and June 6. This is a charitable event with a mission helping deliver services to people living with HIV/AIDS through San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
You might be surprised by how many nonprofit organizations with important mission need to entirely rely on charitable donation to operate. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where I used to work as a clinical scientist in my former life, costs over $2 million to operate for a day. It raises about $1.5 billion annually and that almost all comes from donations from individuals like you and me.
I have a goal to raise $6,000 for this week-long bike ride and I’d appreciate it if you can chip in to help me reach it. I’ll be personally responsible to match every single dollar you donate up to $1,500.
You can follow this link to make a tax-exempt donation which would mean the world to those who receive them. http://www.tofighthiv.org/goto/yangzhang2020
Thanks for your time and contribution.
