1st Year Rider!!! Trying for my 3rd time. SassybyNature coming thru!
Let's start from the beginning... how I got here
This is something I've considered for some time now. I've had friends join this ride out of curiousity and have friends that joined because they were diagnosed with HIV. Both sides have ridden and accomplished the journey with great memories and experiences to share. Personally, I joined because I'm feeling LOST with little to no motivation. Feeling uninspired by my craft and lacking the will to continue with my career choices. On top of this uncertainty, I've also been on an emotional rollercoaster. I've repressed my emotions and have hid from the truth for so long, but now must deal with the fact that I've been struggling with depression on and off for the past 6 years. Some days are real great, some days are real dark and spent trying to be happy or find some sort of happiness from anywhere I can get it.
I am on empty and exhausted. With no where to turn and with a lil healthy push from some great guys, I decided to join AIDS/Lifecycle. It's not why most join the cause, but I want to do something great for someone else. Challenge myself and push my limits. Being so comfortable with my day to day it's time to get uncomfortable. I want to hit the reset button on my life and feel this may be a great way to do so. I hope to find the motivation I've been lacking and just find myself in general.
From June 5th to June 11th, over 3,000 Cyclists and Roadies will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I'll be one of them! I've decided AGAIN to take on a new challenge and what a challenge this will be. This is something I have never done before but being a fighter this is something I know i am capable of. People fight daily to survive and I want to help... This is where you get involved. I plan on using my sass for good to help raise money for those in need. Will you help???
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me.
We're working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
