After several years of the COVID pandemic, the AIDS/LifeCycle is back!
My passion in life is to motivate individuals to get tested for HIV, while reducing the stigma that has been perpetuated by misconceptions. While also ensuring that those individuals that are infected get the right kind of treatment and services to be able to live a long healthy life.
This is why, I got involved in the AIDS/LifeCycle, although I am absolutely terrible at fund raising. I believe that this project goes beyond what most people think of when they hear about this ride. This year we are riding because of a less visible pandemic, one that we have been fighting for forty years now. This pandemic touches lives within our communities every day. We are still fighting barriers that prevent early prevention and detection of HIV. Many of us have lost loved ones to this and it has changed their lives forever.
For many years I lived an extremely unhealthy lifestyle where I simply couldn’t ride. Instead, I donated because I believed in the work that countless programs that depend on the proceeds raised by this ride provide. This year I am riding for all those people that can’t. Raising funding and awareness to help front line programs like the Los Angeles LGBTQ Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation fight a decades long silent pandemic.
I ride so I can help, please support me in this cause.
