Thank you for joining me in this cause!
I will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile, 7-day bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center from June 2nd - June 8th, 2019! This is my first time participating, I couldn't be more excited about experiencing the California scenery on a bike and help support health services for those affected by AIDS. Participants will also camp every night of the ride! So not only will riding 7 days in a row be a new challenge for me, but also sleeping in a tent for an entire week!
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me.
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
My Personal Web Log
Hope everyone is having a good holiday. I'm currently taking a teeny break from the bike till 2019. I've gone on two training rides so far. I don't have my bike with me... though I can go get it... it's just about 50 miles away. But I haven't gone running in so long after spraining both ankles this year! So, the dog and I have been doing a little running, nothing too long, but long enough for her to lag behind me the last quarter mile. She's a sprinter, not a long distance runner.
I'm really excited for 2019, because I can finally say I'm riding AIDS/LifeCycle THIS year, instead of next year!

First training ride!
After weekends filled with bad air quality and then rain, I was finally able to attend an ALC training ride!! I joined the South Bay Blaze in a 34-mile ride, they were welcoming and I had a lot of fun! We did a little bit of climbing and made a pit stop at Stanford Shopping Center, which was filled with shoppers, so glad I wasn't one of them circling around looking for parking! Then we made our way to the baylands and did some gravel riding... Most of the gravel riding I've done before was about a block long... this was almost 3 miles of gravel, which I didn't enjoy very much on a road bike. At least now I'm now running 25mm tires instead of 23's and I didn't fall! Don't need another scar to match the big one on my elbow :) Overall great weather for a ride with some new people. Hm... where should I ride next weekend...

October and November
Thanks to my supporters! I reached my goal of raising $1,500 by the end of 2018 in the middle of November!
Training for AIDS/Lifecycle has unfortunately been not going at all... with a sprained ankle, bad air quality, and rain. I only rode a total of 13 miles outdoors, ran a 5k... at least I was able to work out 11 times. I rode twice indoors on Zwift recently and some people thought I went to NY... no, just virtual Central Park in Zwift!
Looking forward to drier weather soon so the team and I can attend some training rides!
